The first thing in the morning, before I even open my eyes, I feel it. It pulses through my body, rapid fire. I feel it in my legs, my hips, my jaw - everywhere really. It's anxiety. 

What am I anxious about? Everything and NOTHING. 95% of the time (maybe even more) it is unwarranted. But my body is all abuzz. It feels like nervousness, but it's not. It's wasted energy racing through me. 

It is exhausting. 

Many things help me manage - cleansing breaths, prayer, yoga and walking, silence, protecting my calander and my expectations, and a good therapist and effective medications. 

My most helpful antidotes is nature. Creation steadies me - the warm sun, cool water, crashing waves, majestic vistas, vibrant flowers, lady bugs. As the biblical book of Genesis echos, "It is good." Indeed. 

But, I can't always be out there, quietly wandering and wondering in the world. There are projects needing attention, dishes waiting to be cleaned, children needing picked up, relationships to tend. That's why peaceable was born.

Over the years I've discovered that gazing at photos of glory-filled things, coupled with awareness and breathing exercizes help me reclaim calm in my anxious body. 

My jaw relaxes and my mind quiets. I feel the breath in my lungs. My blood presure lowers. And I simply become a better version of myself.  Now, I want to share that goodness with you.
